Hoe flexibel kunt u precies zijn? Enkele tips van Laurent Vanduille, senior claims officer bij Edebex.<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>Wat is het eerste dat u moet doen? Vermeld in uw contracten systematisch de betalingstermijnen die u met uw klanten hebt afgesproken en zet die ook duidelijk op\u00a0uw facturen. Doet u dat niet, dan schrijft de wet een termijn van 30 dagen voor, maar onze expert wil u wijzen op een juridisch element dat soms onvoldoende bekend is: \u201cBij afwijkingen tussen de betalingstermijn die is voorzien in uw prijsofferte en die op de bestelbon van uw klant, zal die laatste gelden. U hebt er dus alle belang bij zo snel mogelijk te controleren of die gegevens overeenstemmen, zodat latere misverstanden worden voorkomen.\u201d<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Beheer uw risico\u2019s!<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Laurent Vanduille is duidelijk: \u201cVandaag moeten de betalingsvoorwaarden steeds deel uitmaken van uw commerci\u00eble onderhandelingen, net als uw tarieven.\u201d Let dus op:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Maak uw verkoopteams bewust: te gulle betalingsvoorwaarden dreigen tot financieringsproblemen te leiden die de marges van uw bedrijf in gevaar brengen!<\/li>\n<li>Informeer naar de financi\u00eble gezondheid van uw klant v\u00f3\u00f3r u hem een bepaalde betalingstermijn toekent. Aarzel niet om samen met uw accountant zijn jaarrekeningen uit te pluizen. Er bestaan ook betaaldatabanken waar u informatie over de solvabiliteit en de betalingsgewoonten van uw debiteur kunt vinden.<\/li>\n<li>Beheer uw risico\u2019s! Als er veel bestellingen komen en dus het risico toeneemt, overweeg dan met uw klant de vooruitbetaling van bepaalde facturen te bespreken.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><strong>Benut uw speelruimte!<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Naargelang uw commerci\u00eble positie beschikt u al dan niet over een zekere flexibiliteit om uw eigen betalingstermijnen op te leggen, met name tegenover grote groepen. Dit adviseert onze expert:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Eis een voorschot als dat mogelijk is en in het contract is voorzien, om de risico\u2019s te verminderen.<\/li>\n<li>Ontvang een nieuwe klant met open armen, maar wees voorzichtig. Moet hij bijvoorbeeld al onmiddellijk dezelfde gunsten toegekend krijgen als vaste klanten die contant betalen? Overweeg dan om uw klant eerst even te testen met een eerste, kleinere bestelling en zo het risico te verminderen. Of eis een stevig voorschot, of zelfs een vooruitbetaling. Als alles goed verloopt, kunt u uw betalingsvoorwaarden geleidelijk versoepelen.<\/li>\n<li>Hou rekening met de praktijken van uw klanten om het eens te worden over hun betalingstermijnen. Een klant die slechts \u00e9\u00e9n keer per maand alle betalingen doet, zal steevast te laat zijn als de betalingstermijn een betaling op de factuurdatum voorschrijft. Spreek met hem betalingsvoorwaarden af van het type einde maand, op voorwaarde dat hij zich ertoe verbindt die ook te zullen respecteren.
